About THE ARTIST, FIEP WESTENDORP:
Sophia Maria (Fiep) Westendorp (Zaltbommel, December 17, 1916 Amsterdam, February 3, 2004) was a Dutch illustrator who became best known for the drawings of Jip and Janneke. In addition to Jip and Janneke, Westendorp also illustrated the Women's page of the Parool and the books of Annie M.G, AnnieM.G. Schmidt, Mies Bouhuys and Han G. Hoekstra. She also illustrated advertising campaigns and created murals. Her estate is housed in the 'Fiep Westendorp Foundation'.
