In this special two-in-one you’ll meet 2 quintessential Dutch traditions. The Jan van Haasteren family visits the Cheese Market in Alkmaar and takes part in the Skûtsjesilen race in Friesland.

    The Cheese Market
Twice a week you can visit the Cheese Market in Alkmaar, a major tourist attraction that the Jan van Haasteren family also likes to visit. It just seems as if Baron van Tast’s imagination has come to life this time. Curling at a cheese market, cheese drums? It couldn’t get much crazier!

    Skûtsjesilen
Skûtsjesilen are the Frisian sailing races with skûtsjes, traditional sailing vessels built for the Frisian waters. Mother-in-law wanted to take the helm during a race, but she has her own ideas about her crew and the race rules!

A Jan van Haasteren puzzle is more than an ordinary jigsaw: it’s an adventure series, with familiar main characters in an endless setting full of absurd details. Discover all the zany adventures of the Jan van Haasteren family! We are proud that our puzzles are made from recycled cardboard in Europe. To cut the cardboard into puzzle pieces, we use the thinnest blade available. The puzzle looks almost seamless when it’s finished. Enjoy this Jan van Haasteren puzzle!
